𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | PRMSU CON accepts Gawad Galing Award

President Ramon Magsaysay State University College of Nursing (PRMSU-CON) was recently awarded as the Nursing Education Development Champion by the Top Rank Review Academy at the Gawad Galing: Global Award of Excellence in Nursing, September 16, 2023, at The Manila Hotel Centennial Hall B.

The award was given in recognition of the department’s excellence in nursing education and its commitment to producing world-class nurses.

Top Rank celebrated its 10th year of providing excellence in nursing review with the first Gawad Galing Awards, which recognized outstanding nurses, nurse educators, nurse leaders, nurse organizations, government agencies and officials, hospitals, media and influencers, and companies.

The awards honored individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the nursing profession and the healthcare sector as a whole.

In receiving the award, the PRMSU CON Dean, Dr. Celeste Orge, expressed her gratitude to the Top Rank Review Academy and to the entire PRMSU community.

She also dedicated the award to the students, faculty, and staff of the department who worked hard to make the PRMSU-CON one of the best nursing departments.

LAGI IYAN PARA KAY RAMON – ORGE

In an interview on Tuesday, September 26, Orge expressed her delight and gratitude for all the commendations and development that the College had accomplished from her two years of designation as Dean with the help and support from the university administration led by the University President Roy N. Villalobos, colleagues from other departments, CON faculty members and staffs, which she refers to as CONars, and the students— factors that led to the induction of the department to the Gawad Galing Awards.

“Hindi ito kayang gawin lang ng iisang tao, dalawa, but lahat. This is a collaborative effort,” she added.

The College Dean gave a rundown of milestones of the department for the past years such as the leveling up of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program to Level 1 on November 2021; outstanding performance ratings at the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE) with the most recent record of 82.00% institutional passing rate at the May 2023 PNLE; the credentials of its faculty members, with 4 Doctors in Nursing Education (DNEs), and the rest with Master’s Degree and are continuing their postgraduate studies; the state-of-the-art facilities with the addition of the Nursing Skills Laboratory Building (NSLB) equipped with medium-fidelity and high-fidelity mannequins for nursing practice simulations; and the activities conducted by the College’s Student Body Organization (SBO).

“Ie-expect talaga nila na mas pataas tayo,” said Orge when asked about what could the Ramonians expect from CON from here on out.

“Kaming mga CONars ay talagang extended ang aming mga adhikain at mga gagawin para mai-provide namin iyong quality nursing education for our student nurses whom we always call future RNs (registered nurses).”

In her closing statements, she addressed her gratitude to the faculty members and staff for their exigency of service and left a short but meaningful message for the future Nightingales.

“Continue niyo kung ano iyong mga ginagawa ninyo para mapakita natin na kapag ikaw ay isang Ramonian nursing student, may ikakasa ka.”
